A friend brought this up on a mailing list earlier today, and it looks cool: J[ava 6 has a "hybrid" or "compressed" 64-bit JVM option](http://blog.juma.me.uk/2008/10/14/32-bit-or-64-bit-jvm-how-about-a-hybrid/), to use less memory than a full 64-bit.

Has anyone used this?  What did you think?  Did it work well?
